How standing upstraight will help you achieve your goals
… and othermusings from a guy trying to achieve his.
The dentists did it right, now its up to the rest of thehealth-focused industries to follow-up!
Maybe it’s the ‘reminder’ idea that I generated with afriend many months ago. Maybe it’s“The Big Old Journal” that I think we all could have fun keeping, holding andwriting in or maybe its just by educating people that with their shear willthey have complete control over their health, wellness and true humanpotential… no matter what else they’ve been told.
I’m starting with the last bit for a few reasons.
1) Finding a company that produces bracelets in anenvironmentally friendly way is easer said than done… especially to have themdone affordably for the masses!
2) Ditto for the really cool looking and feeling journal idea…complete with neat old-school ‘green’ fountain pens!
3) I really like the thought of speaking to groups of people andencouraging them to harness the power within themselves and with the support oftheir communities.
So, to overcome the missing first two integral components Iencourage you to get a cheap notebook, a pen you like writing with and a fewdifferent rubber bands to help keep you on track!!
The final part of the equation is me being here with you, right now and you being here with me, thank you for your interest andattention!
Let’s start with the simple facts. The dentists have got us programmed to brush our teetheveryday and are getting better at convincing us to floss. Also, they have us believing in the value of investing in regular visits withthem and their ‘devices’ for health and wellness promotion!
As a health consultant all I want to do is make sure thatyou are moving towards your healthstyle, workstyle and lifestyle goals on adaily basis until you can be as confident in your health habits as you are withyour dental habits!
Just like a business consultant, I exist to help you clarifyyour goals, break them down into actionable chunks and work towards them untilthey are achieved. I exist toensure that you believe in the value ofinvesting in your health.
Savvy?
The hard part in this day in age comes when Choosing which habits to start with and ensuring that yourchoices are yours and not built on media models of health and wellness ordriven by deeper subconscious and emotional triggers that have been built insince your time in the womb!
Let’s start by looking at the health industry at large andin general and what areas they would, like the dentists, like us to focus on sothey can help us stay healthy ratherthan fix us once we’re a little rough for wear.
The chiropractors and kinesiologists, trainers, athletic, physio and occupational therapists want us to use but not over-fill backpacks, lift with our legs, keep a strong and stable ‘core’, look away from ourmonitors every 20 minutes and get up and move every 45 and at least for 30daily. The ergonomists want us tosit up straight, look ahead and not down and keep our arms and legs comfortablybent… and the getting up and looking around they are on board with too… and sois pretty much everyone else!
The naturopaths, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners(TCMPs), Aurvedic practitioners, nutritionists and dieticians want us to look(stool, skin), listen and feel (digestive, energy) to remove foods and otherenvironmental stimuli that might be holding us back and keeping us down so thatwe can get our digestive and communication systems doing what they are meant todo.
The above and other energy based practitioners want us tokeep aligned and remove interferences to the flow of signals and energy and themental health practitioners want us to keep communicating as well.
We all know the value of good clean food, water and positiveenvironments and interactions (with foods, others and ourselves) but somehowmost of us have fallen off the wagon in one way, shape or form.
First, we need to define success: It is simply achievinggoals.
Second, we need to imitate the successful: Dream big, planwell, visualize achieving and living your dreams and enlist help towards theachievement of your goals.
Third, we need to Nike it: Just do it. You can.
